N/A BONIAS
THE NETHERLANDS
about us
We have started with a simple homepage a few years ago on the space provided by our internet provider and we inevitably contracted the web disease.
One step leads to another and in this manner, our web site has grown from a few simple pages to web portal for all our friends and family around the world.
Content
We see this web site as a tool that allows us to express ourselves and to communicate with others all around the world.
The texts that appear here are mostly written by us over the years. This is probably the most interesting for us since this reflects the manner in which our views and opinions have developed through time.
The subjects treated here are as diverse as our interests and can range from the serious to the prosaic.
Don't take everything you read in this web site seriously; many of the subjects treated here are absolutely not-serious and are meant to help our readers have a good laugh. History, society, technology, economy and finance are our main interests and are extensively treated in these pages, sometimes seriously and sometimes from a much less serious perspective.
We research and examine multiple sources thoroughly for each article. The sources that we have used can be found in the References page.
We hope that you will find these pages useful, easy to read and entertaining.
Who are we
We work and live near Amsterdam, The Netherlands together with our two young children.
We like going out, good food and drink in moderation, a nice walk in the woods and Star Trek.
We plan to move to another country in the next few years although we have not been able to take a decision yet as to our destination. Options are Southern France, Canada, Argentina or... the very centre of Amsterdam.
Contact
We always like hearing from people who have visited our site; please do not hesitate to send us a message with your comments, remarks or questions. This is, in fact, one of the aims of this site: to bring us into contact with people who share our interests.
We will try to answer as soon as possible; in most cases you will receive an answer in one day.
Your comments will remain totally private and will not be published on this web site.
Technical stuff
This site is coded with a combination of Dreamweaver 8 and Notepad on a combination of Windows 2000 and Windows Vista.
Windows Vista users will remark that the pages in this site are tailored around the Candara font. Windows XP (or lower) users will see the pages in this site are tailored around the Trebuchet MS font.
We have tested this site and it works with Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera, Safari and several other browsers.
This site also looks good under Linux provided that you have the Candara or Trebuchet MS font by Microsoft installed.
Some of the pages use Javascript or CGI scripts for their dynamic part.
